Jerry was a proud member of the Magnificent Seven as well as a few distinguished hunting gangs.  He was fast to make friends wherever he went, never lost in the crowd with his infamous Hellyer cackle.  Jerry was a farmer to the very end.  Even though he gave up cattle and farming the crops, his garden brought him endless joy and pride.  Few made it off the farm without one of Jerry's notorious garden tours or homemade wine tastings.  Fishing was another hobby; he loved being on the boat with friends or making memories with his grandsons.  Stubborn and proud, he rarely sat still despite his constant pain.  Making trails, watching birds, playing crib and sipping tea back at Camp Crokinole, his little slice of heaven with Mary Ellen.  He loved his family, and was filled with pride when his home was filled with the ones he cherished.

As per Jerry's wishes, family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate at the family farm on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 starting at 2:00 p.m.  Please bring your own 'tea' to the tea party.  Peninsula attire recommended.   Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, LION'S HEAD CHAPEL, Lion's Head.  Private interment Eastnor Cemetery.  Expressions of remembrance to Lion's Head Hospital c/o Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.georgefuneralhome.com
