I always looked forward to seeing John up at Mike's whenever I went up the Peninsula. Hearing about how he was making out during the hunt was always something I looked forward to while shooting the bull over a cuppa back at Mike's camp during the season.
Whenever Mike and I came back to the camp after being out hunting, we would have a look at the table to see if John had been there and left any evidence of success!
When I heard that John had passed, it came as a great shock, to both me and Darlene. Having moved out to Fort McMurray, we are kind of left out of the news "loop", and as such, we longer hear about things that we would have known about if we were still living in Hepworth.
I am going to miss John's big smile and laugh, as well as the pleasant personality that John always had.
Darlene and I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family.

John and Mike had known each other for 65 years and best of friends. We will miss his sense of humour and his random visits. Mike and John were avid ice fisherman to lake.nipissimg every winter for the last few years. . We have lost a true friend and he will surely live on in his children and grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Till we meet again our friend John
