Darrell, Garth, Marybelle, Karen and extended families.
What a treasure you have held these many years! Your father was an exceptional person. A firm handshake, a warm smile and a genuine interest in those around him. He was always the gentleman.
We offer our genuine sympathy on your loss. It is never easy.
May your many memories of family life with him, and your mother, bring you comfort and peace.
Sincerely,
Barry & Joan

We remember Ray as the friendly man offering a hand shake to his cousin Bill when he arrived the first day at Golden Dawn. I think Bill got Ray's old bed. What wonderful memories people are sharing! Trusting you will celebrate the long life Ray enjoyed and your time together as you say good bye to your father, grandfather and great grandfather.
sincerely, Helen and Norm Meneray

I had the good fortune to have known Ray for a little over 10 years and to spend time and share a meal with him in early October. As usual he was much better dressed than me! He was in good spirits and we both enjoyed the visit.
I can name many of his great qualities but am going to focus on two. I have never met anyone as resilient physically and emotionally as Ray. Whatever life handed him, he accepted it with grace, fortitude and good humour. The second thing that impressed me was his capacity for love; love of Faye, love of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild, people generally and life generally.
Ray was among other things a poet. This takes me to the poem below. It speaks of resiliency and the willingness to carry on and to love over and over again. It also speaks to me of his recent reunion with his beloved Faye. So, along with my condolences to all who mourn his passing and celebrate his life, here's a poem for you, Ray.
Again, Again!
Again, again, even if we know the countryside of love,
and the tiny churchyard with its names mourning,
and the chasm, more and more silent, terrifying,
into which the others dropped:
we walk out together anyway
beneath the ancient trees, we lie down again,
again, among the flowers, and face the sky.
Rainer Maria Rilke
Enjoy the next chapter Ray.

Raymond was a very well liked person in the community. His wonderful smile, positive attitude and excellent memory for people and their families always made you feel special. He will be missed by his immediate and extended family. He was a great father, mentor and friend to me. Raymond was a man who kept the Lord close to his heart. His only wish was, when he passed, the Lord would put him to work in his garden.
